Operation Christmas Child

“Good news and great joy come in a gift-filled shoebox for children in poor countries. Operation Christmas Child is often the first step in reaching out to kids, families and communities with help, hope and the Good News of Jesus Christ.”

Every year we join together and raise funds, buy gifts and pack shoeboxes for Samaritans Purse. We host a “Christmas in July” fundraising dinner to raise the funds for the postage of the boxes. It’s a great night of Learning, Sharing and Fellowship with some great food as well.

Members of the congregation participate by donating time and resources, sewing, knitting and crocheting many of the gifts. It is an activity that everyone can be involved in. Even if it’s just shopping that you love.

The Church also operates as a seasonal drop off centre for the region. The Shoeboxes are packed every October and a dedication service is held before the boxes are sent off to the Samaritans Purse Warehouse. Find out more at http://www.samaritanspurse.org.au/operation-christmas-child.
